Stanford Fram has been a fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program since 2018 and is thrilled to return this year. He is currently a Senior at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, CA. At age 12, Stanford won the Music Teachers of California Composers Competition, performing his piece Con Viviance. Since 2013, Stanford has been studying classical piano at the Colburn Conservatory under the direction of Regulo Martinez-Anton. In 2015, Stanford began playing jazz piano and composing for the jazz ensemble at Crossroads School, where he is currently in Evan Avery’s Jazz “A” Band. During the summers, he studies at the Stanford University Jazz Institute, New York University’s Jazz Improvisation Workshop, and the Montecito Music Festival. Stanford is a founding member of his high school’s Robotics and Music Production Clubs, a journalistic contributor to the Los Angeles Times’ H.S. Insider, and he plays on the Crossroads varsity tennis team.
