About this Artist
Rachel Mugemancuro is a 17-year-old senior at Harvard-Westlake. She has played the violin for almost 12 years and has enjoyed such opportunities as soloing with the Spokane Symphony and serving as concertmaster in the Glendale Youth Symphony and CAIS Honors Orchestra, as well as participating in the chamber program of the Pasadena Conservatory and her school’s chamber club, Cadence for a Cause. Most recently, she has enjoyed performing with the American Youth Symphony, as well as participating in the 2020 program of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. While Rachel enjoys both competing and performing, she loves composition and is greatly inspired by a range of incredibly talented artists such as Jennifer Higdon, Ludwig Göransson, and Ramin Djawadi. Outside of music, Rachel enjoys learning about foreign affairs. Rachel has been a fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program since 2020.
