About this Artist
Pianist, composer, and conductor Micangelo Ferrante, 17, is a senior at John Burroughs High School in Burbank. Mic conducted and performed his diverse compositions most recently in the Roy O. Disney Concert Hall at CalArts and will conduct the premiere of his notable symphonic wind and choral piece Angel at his high school. He also writes and plays for his school’s jazz band and city orchestra. Mic has scored multiple film sequences for composer Hayden Clement, exploring electronic and pop writing. His adept piano performance has allowed him to travel through Vietnam, coordinating numerous charity events for disabled and disadvantaged children, as well as at home, organizing and leading a charity concert for Education Through Music – LA with Victoria Lanier. Aside from music, he played quarterback and cornerback for his school’s football team for three years and is now a second-year coach for his Burbank little league team. Micangelo is a 2019/20 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program.
