MenAlive

About this Artist

For over two decades, MenAlive, the Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus, has sung loud and proud since 2001! Not only does the chorus offer multiple concerts each year, but MenAlive has also opened four sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl for ABBA: The Concert, and it has participated in various choral festivals both here in the United States and abroad.

Multiple decades of innovative, high-quality shows have given MenAlive a national reputation as a first-class arts organization that delivers exceptional musical entertainment. Their repertoire encompasses diverse musical styles, from Classical to Popular, Gospel to Broadway.

MenAlive's performances are a celebration of diversity, featuring choral classics of Johannes Brahms and Morten Lauridsen, the stirring folksongs of Aaron Copland and Stephen Foster, and powerful Broadway melodies of Jerry Hermann and Stephen Sondheim. They have devoted entire concerts to some of the most popular artists, such as ABBA, Queen, Elton John, and Madonna, and have performed music written especially for the chorus. By singing an eclectic mix, they ensure that there is something for everyone.

MenAlive continues to pursue its mission “to build bridges to the public at large” through remarkable singing and service to other arts groups, non-profits, health service organizations, and the community. Several members have given back to the community by volunteering at local food banks.

Through these efforts, MenAlive makes a difference—no matter the gender, color, race, or sexual orientation of those they sing for or serve. They strive to be the change they seek in this world, working toward and looking forward to the day when all people are accepted and affirmed for the uniquely gifted people they are.

MenAlive is delighted to be part of our society's journey in recognizing and celebrating every individual's unique gifts and talents. As representatives of the LGBTQ community, they are on a mission to spread a message of joy, hope, and reconciliation to both the gay community and the community at large, inspiring optimism and unity.
