About this Artist
Maura Tuffy, soprano, is an avid early music, new music, and choral singer. She is currently pursuing a dual degree in B.M. Vocal Arts and B. A. Choral Music from the University of Southern California, where she studies with Thomas Michael Allen and Jo-Michael Scheibe. She has performed with the USC Thornton Chamber Singers, USC Thornton Opera, The Chamber Opera of USC, the USC Thornton Percussion Ensemble, and the Concerto Chamber Orchestra of USC. Recently, Maura was selected as one of eight conductors nationwide to participate in the American Choral Directors Association's Undergraduate Conducting Masterclass at the 2019 National Convention in Kansas City. In 2017, Maura was selected for the USC Thornton Mentorship Program and was mentored by Grant Gershon, artistic director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. In 2016, she was awarded a Singing Fellowship from the Yale School of Music as part of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival Chamber Choir and Conducting Workshop. A composer, her SATB choral composition, “Ubi Caritas”, is published with Colla Voce Music. Maura is currently an auxiliary singer for the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
