About this Artist

Marcus Gee is an Afro-Latino 17-year-old cellist residing in Durham, North Carolina. For 10 years, he has participated in his El Sistema program, KidzNotes. He is currently studying under Bonnie Thron, Principal Cellist of the North Carolina Symphony. Marcus has been fortunate enough to travel abroad and participate in the YOLA National Festival and the YOLA National Institute where he performed as Principal Cellist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel.
