About this Artist
Canadian violinist LUCY WANG has performed in North America, Europe, and Asia as a founding member of the award-winning Viano String Quartet, which captured top prizes at the 2018 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, the 9th Osaka International Chamber Music Competition, and the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Wang has been featured as a soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in past seasons and has collaborated in performance with artists such as Emanuel Ax, Robert Chen, and Orion Weiss. Most recently, she was a top laureate of the 2018 Canada Council Musical Instrument Bank Competition and was generously awarded the use of a 1715 Dominicus Montagnana violin for three years. Wang is currently a Master of Music degree candidate at the Colburn Conservatory, where she studies with Martin Beaver.
