About this Artist
KATE BURTON is thrilled to be appearing at the LA Phil again after narrating Pelléas et Mélisande, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. She has directed Tchaikovsky/Shakespeare evenings with both the Philharmonic and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks last summer at the Hollywood Bowl, all conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. A professor of theater practice at USC, she has been nominated for three Tony Awards (Hedda Gabler, The Elephant Man, The Constant Wife) and three Emmy Awards (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal). She lives in L.A. with her husband, Michael Ritchie, Artistic Director of Center Theatre Group (the Ahmanson Theatre, the Mark Taper Forum, and the Kirk Douglas Theatre).
