Dr. Kim co-founded Rocket City New Music and serves as its creative director. In this role, he is responsible for designing fully integrated audience experiences, leveraging his expertise in lighting design and programming, graphic design, web design and development, video production, and brand development.

Born in Seoul and raised in Buenos Aires, then in Los Angeles, Dr. Kim is fluent in Korean, Spanish, and English, reflecting his global perspective. He studied piano at the Manhattan School of Music, earning both undergraduate and master’s degrees, before completing his doctorate at UCLA, where his dissertation investigated the impact of mixed media in live performance.
