About this Artist
Ferris Haukom is a rising junior at Stanford Online High School. He is also a composer, conductor, violinist, violist, and music enthusiast. Ferris has been formally studying composition with Jordan Nelson for six years and violin with Elizabeth Hedman at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music for eight years. He has been a participant in Sunset ChamberFest for four years and is going into his second year as a member of the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program. One of Ferris’ primary goals as a composer is to create music that represents a variety of worlds or visual spaces. He also enjoys listening to all types of music — Ferris discusses and reviews music of all genres on his blog, Extended Play, which curates music selections with a focus on smaller artists. Aside from Ferris’ musical pursuits, he is interested in physics and writing.
