About this Artist
Fariyan Alam is a 17-year-old senior at the L.A. County High School for the Arts (LACHSA). He is a violist and a composer, currently playing viola with the LACHSA Symphony Orchestra and in YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles). has performed with several ensembles in the past, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Interlochen Philharmonic, and the Ciudad de México (CDMX) x YOLA Orchestra. He has also participated as a composer in the NYU Screenscoring Workshop and the Curtis Young Artists Summer Program (Curtis YASP). Outside of music, Fariyan enjoys learning languages, studying biochemistry, and tutoring physics; he hopes to bring together these interests into the music he writes. Fariyan has been a fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program since 2019.
