About this Artist
Ethan is a 2023/24 fellow in the LA Philharmonic Composer Fellowship Program and the Sue Tsao Fellow Chair. He is a 17-year-old senior at his high school who ultimately wants to become a film composer and tell stories through music. Ethan plays trombone in his high school’s top jazz band and euphonium in its wind ensemble. He has performed in various SCSBOA honor groups such as the High School Jazz All-Stars and the Middle School Symphonic Band. His compositions have been performed by the Tom Kubis Big Band, the Southeast Symphony, as well as many of his school’s ensembles. As role models, Ethan looks up to composers such as John Williams, Sammy Nestico, Frank Ticheli, and Ludwig Gransson for inspiration and hopes to one day leave an impact on others just as these composers have done for him.
