With a deep and early determination of youth, the Venezuelan conductor Enluis Montes Olivar showed that children and young people also have the possibility of growing professionally, when he made his debut as a conductor at the age of 11 conducting the Orchestra and Choir of his native Guanare in 2007. Belonging to the new generation of young conductors of El Sistema, Montes Olivar has an innovative spirit in the search for new sounds. His repertoire is wide and includes authors from classicism, through romanticism, contemporary music, and new musical genres. Furthermore, as a Venezuelan, he enjoys taking the Latin American repertoire wherever he performs.

On July 22, 2021, Enluis made his debut at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, with more than 10,000 people in the audience, and according to music critic Tony Frankel: “The result was a master class in musicianship.”

After the physical departure of maestro José Antonio Abreu in March 2018, he was responsible for conducting one of the most numerous orchestras and choirs in the world made up of 10,771 musicians, in what was the posthumous tribute to the founder of El Sistema de Orquestas y Coros Venezuelan.

In the remainder of 2021, he has different invitations to continue developing his international career, including his debut as head of the San Francisco Symphony in November.

His professional experience is extensive, in May 2019 he was invited by maestro Gustavo Dudamel to be part of the prestigious Dudamel Conducting Fellowships program during the 2019-2020 season with the LA Phil. Enluis was Musical Director of the “Franco Medina” Youth Symphony Orchestra between 2014 and 2017, the Lara Children's Symphony Orchestra during 2015. He was also Assistant Conductor of the Lara Youth Symphony between 2016 and 2017.

He began formal studies of orchestral conducting with professor Teresa Hernández in 2011. Likewise, professor José Antonio Abreu assumed since 2012 his comprehensive training as a musician, making him part of the Academic Training Program for Young Musicians, professors, and Directors of El Sistema, where he studied with countless professors, under the guidance of Professor Gregory Carreño and Franka Verhagen. He has also received Orchestral Conducting workshops with the professors José Antonio Abreu, Gustavo Dudamel, Dick van Gasteren, Eduardo Marturet, Diego Matheuz, Jhon Farrer, Leonardo Panigada, Tarcisio Barreto, Holger Baron, Leaf Bjaland, Mark Churchill, Luis Mauricio Carneiro, and David Cubek.

Currently is a collaborator of the Directorate of Orchestral and Choral Management of El Sistema, also he studies at the El Sistema Orchestral Conducting School and the Inocente Carreño Itinerant Music Conservatory sponsored by the HILTI Foundation and at the Simón Bolívar Music Conservatory, under the tutelage of professor Pablo Castellanos and Dick van Gasteren.
