About this Artist
Daniel Young is a 2021/22 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program. He is 17 years old and a senior at the Cleveland High School Humanities Magnet in Reseda. Daniel began formally studying composition last year with his teacher Eric K.M. Clark and as a fellow of Brightwork New Music High School Composer Initiative. Daniel has played the violin for 12 years and is the concertmaster of the Kadima Conservatory Philharmonic. He also plays classical, jazz, and rock guitar and is lead guitarist in Cleveland High School’s advanced jazz band. He is also principal marimba in Cleveland’s marching band. In his free time, Daniel enjoys reading horror novels, watching surreal movies, and playing soccer.
