Since studying voice at Chapman University with Dr. Peter Atherton, Faatoalia has been performing around the world. Opera News calls his singing “hauntingly beautiful” and credits him with “a voice of winning purity and variety of expression” and The San Francisco Chronicle labels him “sweet-toned.” Recent engagements include The Crab Man in Porgy and Bess with Seattle Opera, The Ballad Singer in Galileo (workshop), and Marco Polo in the premiere of Invisible Cities, both with The Industry. Other notable engagements include Charles Edward in Candide with Los Angeles Philharmonic, Habakkuk in The Festival Play of Daniel with LA Opera, and his debut with San Francisco Opera.
