About this Artist
Aidan Köslü is an 18-year-old senior at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles. Originally self-taught, Aidan began practicing piano in middle school, using online videos to further his skills. In high school, he began studying under Gideon Rubin at the Colburn School. A creative spirit, Aidan eventually added music theory and classical composition to his studies at Colburn. During the COVID-19 shutdown, Aidan began playing and composing for the harpsichord as well. A rented reproduction of a 16th-century Italian harpsichord now resides alongside the family’s piano. Aidan is very active in his school community. He speaks French and Mandarin, is a founding member of the Lycée’s Jazz Club and a member of the fencing team. In addition to classical and jazz, Aidan is interested in exploring some of the more traditional music and instruments found in his ancestral country of Turkey. Aidan is a 2021/22 fellow in the LA Phil Composer Fellowship program.
