February 27, March 5, March 26, April 2, & May 7, 2024, at 8 pm
WHAT:
Colburn Celebrity Recitals return in mid-November with nine evenings of fine virtuosi in recital on the Walt Disney Concert Hall stage. The fall features cellist Alisa Weilerstein, with a new take on Bach and more. In the new year, violinists come to the fore with Itzhak Perlman returning once again with Rohan de Silva, to delight our ears and make our hearts joyous, followed by Leila Josefowicz, with a program of Debussy and Stravinsky. And, in early spring, Ray Chen brings his violin artistry to the Hall.
Then the season ends with a number of acclaimed performers back-to-back in April and May, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma with pianist Kathryn Stott, UNSTILL LIFE danced by Benjamin Millepied with accompaniment by Alexandre Tharaud, followed by the incomparable piano talents of Yefim Bronfman, Víkingur Ólafsson, and Yuja Wang, all in separate recitals.
This season, Chamber and Wine Tuesdays begin October 10, at Walt Disney Concert Hall with a concert featuring members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a program of Italian and Spanish music. The series presents eight concerts with chamber works by well-known composers in intimate Tuesday evening performances.
From string quartets and piano trios to wind quintets or a brass ensemble, chamber music concerts feature members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing in small groups, creating an intimate and compelling concert experience. All chamber music performances take place at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Complimentary wine reception starts at 6:30 pm before most chamber concerts in BP Hall, except where noted.

Yo-Yo Ma with Kathryn Stott
Cellist Yo-Yo Ma’s multi-faceted career is testament to his enduring belief in culture’s power to generate trust and understanding. With partners from around the world and across disciplines, he creates programs that stretch the boundaries of genre and tradition to explore music-making as a way not only to share and express meaning, but also as a model for the cultural collaboration he considers essential to a strong society.
Yo-Yo Ma is joined by longtime collaborator Kathryn Stott. Internationally recognized as one of Britain’s most versatile and imaginative pianists, Stott was hailed by The Washington Post as “every bit Ma’s equal, playing with striking individuality.” Together they have toured the globe and released multiple albums including 2020’s Songs of Comfort and Hope in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
